5 Ways to Be Bolder

One of the biggest messages we find important to relay is the ability to be bold (in fact, it's our slogan!). We know from experience that fear is what cripples us and makes us feel small -- it stops us from doing and saying the things we want. This is why it's so important to be bold: there's so much value in leaving our comfort zone, taking risks, putting ourselves out there, and going after what we want without fear. Anything is possible, and each and every one of us have the capacity to do great things in this world.

Here are five ways you can be bolder in your daily life.

  1. Be authentically yourself (and don't mind what others think)
We appreciate when people are real and are themselves, so why wouldn't we do the same? There's beauty in how we are all different from each other. Let your uniqueness shine through, and don't be afraid to be unapologetically yourself. Being yourself is empowering.

  2. Be vulnerable
Do you hold back from sharing things about yourself because it makes you feel uncomfortable? According to researcher Brené Brown, vulnerability is the key to connecting with others. Don't be afraid to speak up, express yourself, and share -- you never know what kind of connections can spark from your ability to open up.

  3. Take risks
Sometimes playing it safe won't get you where you want to go. It's important to take risks and push yourself out of your comfort zone to do new things. Whether it's making a career move or making a risky fashion choice - go for it! There's freedom on the other side of fear.

  4. Develop a growth mindset
According to psychologist Carol Dweck, people with a growth mindset believe that their abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. This means: seeing failure as a stepping stone, continually pushing past fears, doing what it takes, and seeing challenges as opportunities for growth. When you have a growth mindset, anything is possible.

  5. Follow your dreams
In a world that is constantly telling you what you should do, be, or have, it can be a rebellious act to pave your own path. But what other way would you have it? Move toward your goals and dreams with passion and resilience. Take daily action, adjust as you go along, and never give up on what you envision for yourself!
