Luke LucasLuke Lucas
Luke Lucas is a Melbournian with a self-made creative career spanning two decades. In the late 90s, he co-created the in-line skating publication Fourinarow that sold in 14 countries around the world. Then at the turn of the millenium with two other partners in crime, he started a new venture in the multi-platformed business Lifelounge (which simultaneously was a creative agency, an online creative culture portal and glossy print magazine), and there he sat at the creative helm for the next 12 years. It was through Lifelounge and primarily the publication they published from 2005 until his departure in 2011 that Luke began to experiment with conceptual illustrative typography, custom lettering and type design. Now as a freelance creative profession, his works have received awards from institutions such as D&AD, TDC, Communication Arts and AWARD to name a few and among his list of regular clients are Nike (US), Target USA, Esquire (US/UK), NY Times and The Washington Post.
